Dinny McGinley

Question:

111 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a suckler cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Donegal.

The person named will be paid her 1993 suckler cow premium scheme grant as soon as possible. Payment of an advance was not made in this case as the application form had to be returned to the applicant for further clarification.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

113 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the final 40 per cent of the 22 month subsidy will be paid in 1994.

The final 40 per cent of the 1993 special beef premium will become payable to a particular applicant when all applications received from him-her in the course of 1993 have been processed. This is necessary to ensure compliance with EU regulations covering in particular the ceiling on eligible animals and the stocking density. The work on this, together with the work on processing the November 1993 applications, means that in many cases payment of the final 40 per cent of premium will not start before late March.
