Vol. 438 No. 1

Written Answers. - Proposed New Second Level School.

Phil Hogan

Question:

143 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Education if a site has been agreed for the provision of a new secondary school at a location (details supplied) in County Dublin.

Liam Lawlor

Question:

162 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education if she intends to order the acquisition of the site at Diswellstown, Dublin 15, which was recommended as the location for the Castleknock second level school; if she will give an estimate of the cost of acquiring the site; if she will give an assurance that initial accommodation for second level students will be available on a site in the area ready for occupation in September 1994; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 143 and 162 together.

I refer the Deputies to my reply to Dáil Questions Nos. 91, 107 and 112 on Wednesday, 26 January 1994.

My Department will shortly be negotiating with the appropriate planning authority with regard to the identification and acquisition of a suitable site in the Diswellstown area for the proposed new second-level school in Castleknock.

Until these negotiations are completed, it would not be possible to say what the site costs will be.
