Vol. 438 No. 2

Written Answers. - Residential Property Tax.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

56 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Finance the amount of money that will be raised from the residential property tax in 1994; and the way in which this compares with the sum raised in 1993.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that based on present legislation the estimated yield from residential property tax in 1994 is £9 million. However, as a consequence of the proposed changes announced in my Budget Statement of 26 January the estimated 1994 yield will be £14 million. This compares with the yield of £8.6 million in 1993.
