65 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Social Welfare the total number of persons, by age and gender, currently on the live register and on pre-retirement allowances or other such schemes in County Kildare, and for the corresponding dates in each of the past five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Set out in the attached table are details on the numbers of people on the live register in County Kildare as of 31 December 1993 and similar data for the previous five years. An age breakdown of the numbers on the live register is not available for 1988.
Also set out are the numbers in receipt of the pre-retirement allowance in County Kildare as of 31 December each year since its introduction in 1990. A breakdown by age and gender of the numbers of people in receipt of the pre-retirement Allowance is not available.
