Vol. 438 No. 2

Written Answers. - Sheep Quota Allocation.

Michael Finucane

Question:

81 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the status of an application for a sheep quota allocation by a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named does not have an automatic entitlement to a quota as no application for ewe premium was made by him in 1992. However as he has applied for premium in 1993 in respect of a holding for which his father was paid premium in 1991 he has been allocated a quota of 30 which is the quota his father would have been entitled to if he had continued in sheep production.

Question:

82 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason no suckler cow grant has been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; when the cow suckler grant will be paid; and when the balance of 20 per cent outstanding on headage grants will be paid.

Due to an error made by the person named on his 1993 area aid application form, his advance of 1993 Suckler Cow was not paid. The error has now been corrected and payment will issue shortly. The balance due under the disadvantaged areas scheme will be paid in the near future.
