Vol. 438 No. 4

Order of Business (Resumed).

I do not wish to press this matter unduly, but there is a genuine concern in regard to it. Will the Taoiseach give a detailed schedule for taking the family law and divorce legislation bearing in mind that there will be curtailed sittings of the House in the run-up to the European Parliament elections and the by-elections and also that the House normally goes into recess at the end of June? I can assure the Taoiseach that the worst possible situation——

That should be adequate, let us hear the Taoiseach in respect of this matter.

——that could arise would be a perception of a rush in regard to the legislation.

The Government is satisfied that there will be ample time to debate those Bills in this House and, with the co-operation of the parties opposite, I am sure we can accommodate the Deputy.

Before 9 June?
