Question:

144 Mrs. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when cattle headage will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

The application of the person named for grants under the 1993 cattle headage scheme is being processed at present and any advance payment due will be made in the near future.

The application of the person named for grants under the 1993 cattle headage scheme is being processed and if found in order payment will issue in the near future.

Question:

146 Mrs. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when sheep headage will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

Under the conditions of the 1993 sheep headage scheme, applicants have to farm at least 7.5 statute acres to be eligible for payment and as the person named declared 4 acres on his application he was not eligible for any payment under the scheme.

He was not paid the advances of the 1993 ewe premium as he had no quota. He was recently allocated a quota of 20 from the national reserve. However, he received an overpayment of £1,099.87 under the 1992 ewe premium and the premium due under the 1993 scheme will be offset to reduce this overpayment.

The application of the person named for grants under the 1993 cattle headage scheme is being processed at present and any payment due will be made in the near future. He did not qualify for payment under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme as he did not have any eligible cows.

The person named was paid his 1993 cattle headage grant on 14 February 1994.

152 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a beef and sheep premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

The person named is not eligible for 1993 ewe premium as he has no quota. He did not apply to the national reserve for a quota.

His application for grants under the December 1992 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and if found in order payment will be made shortly. His application under the January/February 1993 special beef premium scheme is also being processed at present and any advance payment due in accordance with EU regulations will be paid shortly.

Rory O'Hanlon

Question:

153 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan will be paid compensation for loss of animals through tuberculosis.

The reactor grants due to the person named will be paid on receipt of tax clearance certificate and disinfection certificate in the district veterinary office.

Question:

154 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the date of an application for a suckler cow subsidy from a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; the progress to date; and the likely outcome.

The person named applied for 1993 suckler cow premium on 1 July 1993. His application is being processed at present and a 60 per cent advance payment as provided in EU Regulations will be made shortly. Payment of the balance of the suckler cow premium cannot be made to a particular applicant until all applications received from him/her in the course of 1993 have been processed. This is necessary to ensure compliance with EU regulations covering in particular the ceiling on eligible animals and stocking density.
