Vol. 439 No. 2

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Question:

52 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Justice the progress to date and likely date of completion by the valuation office of application by a person (details supplied) in County Wexford for transfer of folios to another party when the application was received; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the dealing referred to by the Deputy concerns two related applications which were lodged in the Land Registry on 14 January 1994. The first application is for registration under section 49 of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, i.e. registration of title acquired by possession. Due to the complicated nature of such dealings, it will in the ordinary course take some time to process. The second application, for voluntary transfer of the property in question to another party, is dependent on the satisfactory completion of the section 49 registration.

Robert Molloy
