Vol. 439 No. 2

Written Answers. - Sheep Quota.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

96 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry was refused additional sheep quota from the national reserve; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named applied for an allocation of ewe premium quota from the national reserve under the category which provides for producers who applied for premium in 1991 on a lower number of ewes than normal due to exceptional circumstances. However, the person named was paid premium on a higher number of ewes in 1991 than in any of the previous three years and he does not, therefore, qualify for a quota from the reserve.
