Question:156 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education the number of primary schools which have been closed or amalgamated between the years 1973 and 1993 on a county by county basis; and the number of new primary schools, where previously a school did not exist, which have been established on a county by county basis between the years 1973 and 1993.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 155 and 156 together. The information sought by the Deputy is not readily available in my Department and the cost in staff time of assembling it could not be justified.
