111 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the full extent of the furniture manufacturing industry in this country by volume and value including a breakdown in respect of soft and hard furniture, bedding and other furniture; the total value of new imports under each heading in each of the years 1990 to 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The following tables provide data published by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) in respect of: (i) the output of the furniture manufacturing industry for the year 1990, the latest year for which figures are available. The data is available by value only; (ii) Imports for the years 1990-92. 1992 is the latest year in respect of which import statistics for furniture are available. The available data does not provide a breakdown by reference to new goods.
