Written Answers. - Tralee (Kerry) Urban Renewal Scheme.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

112 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for the Environment the areas in Tralee, County Kerry, included in the urban renewal scheme.

Two areas in Tralee totalling about 21 acres are included in the present urban renewal scheme which is due to expire on 31 July 1994. Details of the areas are as follows: An area lying just north of The Mall. The area stretches from Rock Street in the west to Ashe Street and incorporates Market Place; an area bounded generally by Prince's Quay, James Street, Basin Road and Cross Lane.

The specific areas are described in the Urban Renewal Act, 1986 (Designated Areas) Order, 1988 (S.I. No. 92 of 1988).

Areas to be designated under the new urban renewal scheme, due to commence on 1 August 1994, are being considered and will be announced as soon as possible.
