Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Theresa Ahearn — The closure of St. Joseph's college secondary school, Cahir, County Tipperary, leaving 120 students without secondary education from July 1994; and the proposals for the continuation of secondary education for the students involved and for the future employment of the present staff; (2) Deputy Michael Kitt — When grants will be approved for St. Brendan's group water scheme, Ballygar, County Galway; and if a supplementary grant will be paid towards the scheme; (3) Deputy Penrose — The delay in sanctioning and approving the necessary finance for the north-western low level section of the Mullingar regional water supply, which includes Ballynacargy, Moyvore, Ballymore and their hinterlands; and the impact of this delay on local residents and on the development of industry and agriculture in the area; (4) Deputy Molloy — The serious problems which will be created for teachers and pupils at St. Patrick's national school, Galway City, arising from an instruction to close the seventh class from September 1994; and the need to withdraw this instruction to allow a full review of the matter and (5) Deputy Crawford — The movement of 100 head of cattle from a restricted farm in County Donegal to the pound in County Cavan and subsequently to a private farm in north County Dublin; the regulations permitting this movement; and the possibility of damage to the herd in the immediate vicinity or to the national herd;

The matters raised by the following have been selected for discussion: Deputies Michael Kitt; Penrose; Theresa Ahearn; and Molloy.
