56 Mr. L. Burke asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of people in receipt of unemployment assistance, unemployment benefit, disability benefit and invalidity pension in Cork city and county for the period ending 28 February 1994 and for the same period for each of the last five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Area analysis of the Live Register is published by the CSO on a monthly basis. Analysis for the period ending 28 February 1994 is not yet published. Table A overleaf sets out data on the number of people in Cork city and county in receipt of unemployment payments for the period ending 28 January 1994, the latest date for which figures are available and for the corresponding period for the past five years.
A breakdown on social welfare schemes on a county by county basis is compiled at the end of each calender year. Table B overleaf sets out the number of recipients of disability benefit and invalidity pension in Cork (city and county) at 31 December 1993 and for the corresponding period for the previous five years.
