Vol. 440 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Frank Crowley

Question:

100 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a depopulation grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The depopulation grant due to the person named will be processed for payment on receipt of a tax clearance certificate in the district veterinary office.

Jim Higgins

Question:

101 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not received her 1993 headage.

The application of the person named for grants under the 1993 cattle headage scheme is being processed at present and any payment due will be made in the near future. A 60 per cent advance of her 1993 suckler cow premium will be paid shortly but payment of the balance cannot be made to a particular applicant until all applications received from him-her in the course of 1993 have been processed. This is necessary to ensure compliance with EU regulations covering in particular the ceiling on eligible animals and stocking density. The processing of November 1993 applications means that in most cases payment of the final 40 per cent of premium will not start before late March.

Enda Kenny

102 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when headage will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

Enda Kenny

Question:

103 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when headage and suckler payments will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

The person named has been paid an advance under the 1993 cattle headage scheme already. His application is now being processed further and any balance due will be paid shortly. The application of the person named for grants under the June 1992 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and if found in order following a computer validation check payment will issue shortly. Delay in making this payment has arisen because the person named did not complete his application form correctly.

His January-February 1993 special beef premium scheme application is being processed at present and any advance payment due will be made shortly. He has already been paid a 60 per cent advance payment under the June 1993 ten month special beef premium scheme. A 60 per cent advance payment under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme will be paid shortly.

Payment of the balance of the suckler cow premium and special beef premium cannot be made to a particular applicant until all applications received from him/her in the course of 1993 have been processed. This is necessary to ensure compliance with EU regulations covering in particular the celling on eligible animals and stocking density.
