Question:326 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform when he intends to introduce effective equal pay legislation.

I intend to introduce legislation to amend the Anti-Discrimination (Pay) Act, 1974 during 1994 in line with the commitment in the Programme for Competitiveness and Work.
A range of proposals to amend existing legislation are currently under consideration.
