Dáil Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 30 Mar 1994

Vol. 440 No. 8

Question Time Rota: Motion.

I move:

That notwithstanding anything in the Resolutions of the Dáil of 12 January, 1993, or 10 March, 1994, in relation to the taking of Questions for oral answer:

(1) Questions for oral answer to the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht shall next be taken on the first day (being a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) on which the Dáil shall sit following 30 March; and

(2) Questions for oral answer to the Minister for Defence and the Minister for the Marine shall next be taken on the second day (being a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) on which the Dáil shall sit following the said date

and the rota shall resume thereafter with Questions to the Minister for Health.

Question put and agreed to.

On a point of order, where is the Minister of State?

Why will she not come to the House and answer questions?

No opposition question was put to me on the Order Paper yesterday.

(Interruptions.)

They were ruled out of order.

The way the Opposition is being treated in the House is a disgrace. Come to the Committee of Public Accounts and we will ask some questions.

Deputy Allen should have learned from Deputy De Rossa how to hang-glide instead of parachuting.

We know now why the Ethics Bill was not raised.
