Question:23 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Defence the steps, if any, he proposes to take to protect the position of the members of the survey company, corps of engineers, who volunteer for United Nations service overseas.

As I told the House in reply to a similar question on 22 March 1994 the present position is that any member of the military Survey Company who has come back from overseas service has returned to the Ordnance Survey in the context of the current review of the Permanent Defence Force by the Efficiency Audit Group.
