Question:46 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for the Marine if he has received the official report on the trophic status of Lough Conn; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Lough Conn (Mayo) Report.
I understand that the report referred to by the Deputy, which I have not yet seen, was one which was prepared for Mayo County Council, and staff of the Central Fisheries Board were involved in compiling the report along with other agencies.
The results of such a report in so far as they may have implications for fisheries management are a matter primarily for the North Western Regional Fisheries Board and the Central Fisheries Board. I look forward to receiving a copy of the report and I will consider carefully any recommendations which require action on my part and which might be brought forward by the fisheries board.
