Vol. 441 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Seán Haughey

Question:

115 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for the Environment when an application for a new house grant will be paid to persons (details supplied) in Dublin 17.

The application in this case was received in February 1994. Following a recent inspection of the house, arrangements are now being made for early payment of the grant.

Peter Barry

Question:

116 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received proposals from Cork County Council for a grant to improve the roadway from Cork Airport to the South Ring; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In November 1993, Cork County Council submitted outline proposals to my Department for the improvement of the R600 Airport Road and these were approved in principle in February 1994, without commitment in relation to funding. The position regarding the financing of works on non-national roads is set out in replies to Questions Nos. 327 and 339 of 26 January 1994. No application for the Airport Road was included in the proposals submitted by Cork County Council for specific grants in 1994.
