Vol. 441 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

Question:

122 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for the Environment the date of application; progress to date and likely outcome of an application for a new house grant for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; if so, when; the basis for a grant of £2,000 having been made further to an inspection; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Following review, it has been established that, in view of the long standing nature of the application, the taxation requirements currently applicable to new house grants do not apply in this case. In the circumstances, the appropriate rate of grant — £2,000 — has now been paid.
