A fifth honorary consul in New Orleans, the late Mr. Dermot McGlinchey, died last November.
I would envisage appointing a successor to Mr. McGlinchey in New Orleans in due course. I do not have plans for further honorary consul appointments in the US at this stage but I will keep the situation under review. As Deputies are aware, there are four career Consulates General in the US — in Boston, Chicago, New York and San Francisco — which are staffed by officals of my Department.
