120 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if his Department has made formal application to the EU for funding towards the development of the Teagasc centre at Ballinamore, County Leitrim, as a forestry research project as recommended by Teagasc.

An application for funding towards the development of an integrated forestry/grassland project in Ballinamore, County Leitrim was made to the EU Commission in 1993. The application was not successful and Teagasc are now examining the options as regards the future of the Ballinamore centre.
