Vol. 442 No. 5

Written Answers. - Southern Health Board Cardiac Units.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

178 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Health the proposals, if any, he has to make funds available to the Southern Health Board for the provision of cardiac units in all district hospitals in its area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The provision of services in the Southern Health Board area is a matter for the Southern Health Board in the first instance, having regard to its service priorities for development and the resources available to it for this purpose. I have received no request for funding from the board for the provision of cardiac units in district hospitals.
