30 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he is concerned about the proposal for further cuts of 1 per cent in milk quotas over the next two years by the European Commission; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

No decision has yet been taken by the EU Council of Ministers on the Commission's proposal for a reduction in milk quotas. In the course of the Council's discussions to date on this issue, I have made clear my strong opposition to the Commission's proposal.
