Vol. 442 No. 5

Written Answers. - Milk Quota.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

46 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will give details of the benefits to small milk producers arising from the new super-levy regulations.

The operation of the milk quota regime in Ireland is governed by EU Regulations 3950/92 and 536/93 and SI No. 70/94. Under these rules, priority access is given to small-scale milk producers to milk quota which becomes available under restructuring schemes and schemes for the redistribution of unused quota in a particular year.
