Written Answers. - Licensed Smolt Sites.

Question:

124 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Marine the sites he has licensed for the temporary stocking of smolts at Mulroy Bay, Lough Swilly, Doonbeg, Travarra, Inver Bay, Killary Harbour and Ardmore Bay and the overall licensed tonnage for each of them.

The information sought by the Deputy is as follows:

(1) The smolts which are temporarily stocked at trial sites in Mulroy Bay and Lough Swilly will be transferred back to the company's existing licensed site at Lough Swilly. The permitted harvested tonnage is 1,000 tonnes.

(2) The smolts which are temporarily stocked at a trial site in Doonbeg will be transferred to the company's licensed site at Roancarrig. The permitted harvested tonnage is 600 tonnes.

(3) The smolts which are temporarily stocked at a trial site in Travarra will be transferred to the company's licensed site at Inishfarnard. The permitted harvested tonnage is 500 tonnes.

(4) The smolts which are temporarily stocked at a trial site in Inver Bay will be transferred to the company's licensed site in Inver Bay. The permitted harvested tonnage is 500 tonnes.
(5) The smolts which are temporarily stocked at a trial site in Killary Harbour will be transferred to the company's licensed site in Killary Harbour. The permitted harvested tonnage is 450 tonnes.
(6) The smolts which are temporarily stocked at a trial site in Ardmore Bay will be transferred to the company's licensed site in Ardmore Bay. The permitted harvested tonnage is 200 tonnes.
