Vol. 442 No. 5

Written Answers. - Land Sale Delay.

Ivan Yates

Question:

134 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay with Coillte Teoranta in reaching agreement with a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny regarding the sale of lands; and in view of the urgency of the circumstances whereby this person cannot develop access to his amenity development, if he will intervene and expedite the matter favourably.

The matter referred to in the Deputy's question relates to property which was vested in Coillte Teoranta under provisions contained in the Forestry Act, 1988. The matter is therefore of a day-to-day nature for the company and it would, therefore, be inappropriate for me to intervene. I have, however, passed a copy of the Deputy's question to Coillte Teoranta requesting that the company correspond directly with the Deputy at the earliest possible date.
