Vol. 442 No. 6

Written Answers. - Working Party on Cervical Screening.

Liz McManus

Question:

72 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health the length of time the committee on cervical screening has been operating; and when it is expected to produce a report.

The working party was appointed as a committee of experts in October 1992 to review cervical screening with the following terms of reference: to review the implementation of the recommendations of the interim report of the Working Party on Cervical Screening 1988; to review the general efficacy and cost effectiveness of the operation of the present systems and to consider what further cost effective improvements can be made. Its final report is being drafted and will be presented to me later this year.
