Vol. 442 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Bus Service.

Michael Finucane

Question:

74 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Education if the school bus serving the primary school at areas (details supplied) in County Limerick has been terminated due to the poor condition of the road serving the townland; and if she will ensure the service is restored as it is causing hardship to persons (details supplied) in County Limerick.

The service to which the Deputy refers had to be curtailed due to the very bad road conditions on this route. As a result, the bus now comes to pick-up point 2.2 miles from the home of the family involved, which is, regrettable, the most that can be offered in the circumstances.

The matter of road conditions is outside my control. However, I will be glad to restore the full service as soon as the conditions of the roads permits.
