Vol. 442 No. 7

Written Answers. - Remedial Teacher Services.

Paul Bradford

Question:

70 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Education the number of applications which have been received from a school (details supplied) in County Cork for the services of a remedial teacher and the dates of each such application.

My Department only keeps a record of the most recent application for remedial teachers posts as details such as enrolment numbers and proposals for the sharing of remedial posts between schools can change from year to year.

The most recent application from the school mentioned by the Deputy was received on 28 April 1994.

I have arranged for the appointment of an additional 100 remedial teachers with effect from September next and the application submitted by the school in question is being considered in the context of the allocation.
