Vol. 442 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answers. - Collins Barracks (Dublin) Project.

Seán Haughey

Question:

85 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht when the refurbishment work at Collins Barracks, Dublin, will be completed; when the new museum will open; and the number of extra jobs that will be created arising from this project.

I would like to refer the Deputy to my reply on 12 April last to questions relating to the Collins Barracks project (Volume 441, No. 1, columns 46-49) in which I outlined the work of the advisory groups involved in this development. Until the reports of the advisory groups have been finalised, examined and decisions taken thereon, the Deputy will appreciate that it is not possible for me to be more precise. I am hopeful, however, that some of the existing Collins Barracks premises will have been refurbished for museum use and opened to the public in the first half of 1995.
