Vol. 443 No. 7

Written Answers. - Baltimore (Cork) Garda Station.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

67 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Justice if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the external appearance of the Garda station in Baltimore, County Cork, is appalling; her views on whether it is acceptable that the Garda station should be such an eyesore in a major tourist centre; and the steps, if any, she will take to deal with the matter.

I am informed by the Garda authorities, who have delegated responsibility for such maintenance matters, that it is not proposed to carry out external painting of Baltimore station this year, in view of other maintenance priorities in the Cork West Division.
