Question:

25 Mr. O'Malley asked the Minister for Justice if she will give details of the recent investigations and raid made on the home of a main suspect in the distribution of child sex material including pornography video tapes and literature; if a prosecution is being brought in this case; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I have been informed by the Garda authorities that material which would appear to relate to homosexual activities involving adults and children was seized by the Customs authorities last March. Arising from this seizure, a Garda investigation in the matter is ongoing, and when completed, a file will be forwarded for directions to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
