Question:

138 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health the number of occupational therapists and the number of physiotherapists involved in the treatment of arthritis in each health board area; and the numbers working in hospitals and in community health centres.

The information requested by the Deputy is set out in the following tabular statement.

Occupational therapists and physiotherapists treat arthritis sufferers both on an in-patient and on a community care basis as part of the overall service provided. Statistics are not complied as a matter of routine on the source of referral of such patients.
