153 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education the number of pupils enrolled at each of our island primary schools at 30 September 1993; the island schools which have had a fax, phone and modem installed to date; the number of these schools that are Gaelscoileanna; and if she will give details of the island schools which have the services of a remedial teacher.
The 14 primary schools designated as Island schools have enrolments as follows: Scoil Naomh Cholmcille, Toraigh, Contae Dhún na nGall, (23); Scoil Naisiúnta Inis Meáin, Arainn, Contae na Gaillimhe, (26); Scoil Naisiúnta Eoghanachta, Arainn, Contae na Gaillimhe, (31); Scoil Naisiúnta Naomh Columba, Inisturk, Renvyle, Contae na Gaillimhe, (20); Inishboffin national school, Cleggan, County Galway, (21); Sherkin Island national school, Baltimore, County Cork, (13); Scoil Naisiúnta Chléire, Cléire, Contae Chorcaí, (12); Scoil Naisiúnta Arainn Mhór 1, Arainn Mhór, Contae Dhún na nGall, (44); Scoil Naisiúnta Arainn Mhór 11, Arainn Mhór, Contae Dhún na nGall, (29); Scoil Naisiúnta Chaomháin, Inis Oírr, Arainn, Contae na Gaillimhe, (47); Scoil Naisiúnta Rónáin, Arainn, Contae na Gaillimhe, (57); Scoil Naisiúnta An Cheathrar Alainn, Cill Rónáin, Arainn, Contae na Gaillimhe, (22); St. Patrick's national school, Clareisland, County Mayo, (26); Scoil Mhichil Naofa, Ballinakilla, Bere Island, County Cork, (29).

Fax and modem facilities have been installed for testing in one school. It is planned to complete the programme of installation in all the schools concerned during September and October next.
I am responding to the Deputy's reference to Gaelscoileanna on the presumption that what he is seeking is the number of island schools that are in the Gaeltacht. Nine of the schools are located in Gaeltacht areas. The two schools on Arainn Mhór have the services of a remedial teacher.
