Written Answers. - Dublin Squatting Problem

Tony Gregory

Question:

67 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department has been contacted by Dublin Corporation regarding the serious squatting situation in Dublin city; and his response to the Corporation's specific request to enable them to deal expeditiously with the problem.

In common with all housing authorities, Dublin Corporation is responsible for the management of their rented dwellings, including dealing with the problem of squatting. While questions in relation to squatting have arisen in the regular discussions between my Department and the corporation on housing matters, specific proposals by the corporation are awaited.
