Vol. 444 No. 6

Written Answers. - Registration of County Mayo Holding.

Jim Higgins

Question:

99 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Justice the reason for the delay in the registration of an allotment of land of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo.

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the application referred to involves a Land Commission schedule. In the case of such schedules, the property is deemed to be registered as of date of vesting by the Land Commission. Registration of these schedules is thus, of necessity, afforded a lower priority than the registration of dealings. Where a specific need arises which requires that registration of a schedule be completed, for example where a further transaction affecting the property in question arises, then the Land Registry will, as far as possible, expedite such cases.

The registrar has informed me that the application referred to will be completed within two weeks.
