Vol. 445 No. 6

Written Answers. - Bray (Wicklow) Garda Station.

Liz McManus

Question:

207 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Justice when the extension to the Garda station in Bray, County Wicklow, will be provided; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [599/94]

It is proposed to carry out major refurbishment works including the provision of an extension at Bray Garda station. The Office of Public Works has been requested to prepare a sketch scheme for this project.

It is my objective to have all stations brought up to an acceptable standard of accommodation within the minimum possible timescale. However, the Deputy will appreciate that, given available resources, each project must be addressed within the context of priorities throughout the country. As there are a number of stations in more urgent need of attention than Bray, it is not possible to say exactly when work will commence, but I can assure the Deputy that there will be no avoidable delay.
