Vol. 445 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dirha East (Kerry) Sewerage Scheme.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

242 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for the Environment when the sewerage scheme at Dirha cottages. Listowel, County Kerry will commence in view of the fact that it went to tender in 1987. [375/94]

The question of funding for Dirha East sewerage scheme, and for water services projects generally, has been considered in the context of the resources available under the National Development Plan. The high level of existing commitments and the demands of schemes already prioritised for investment account for all finance available to the water services programme at present. It is not therefore possible to provide funding for this scheme at this stage. The position will however be regularly reviewed during the period of the National Development Plan.
