Vol. 445 No. 6

Written Answers. - Technical Assistance Costs.

John Bruton

Question:

264 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Defence the detailed terms and conditions under which his Department received technical assistance amounting to £12,229,755; if he will give details of each project for which it was used; if a copy of the study or studies carried out was supplied to the European Commission; if a copy is available for inspection by members of the public; and, if not, the reason therefor. [148/94]

This Department has not received European Union aid for technical assistance under the Community Support Framework. The moneys referred to in the reply to the Deputy's Question No. 129 of 29 June 1994, were grants from the European Union towards this Department's costs of purchasing two new maritime patrol aircraft and of certain equipment for and modifications to Naval Service vessels, pursuant to the funding of fishery surveillance operations.
