271 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Defence if he has satisfied himself with the basis for selection of grooms in the army equitation school for foreign travel during 1994; and the reason selection was confined to three of the 15 grooms. [749/94]
I understand that, in general the equitation school selects the same rider/horse/groom combination to work together throughout a season. Such combinations allow for better teamwork which is necessary to compete effectively at international shows. An indication of the success of these arrangements is the outstanding performance at international shows in 1994.
