Vol. 445 No. 6

Written Answers. - Beef Quota.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

303 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a beef quota will be made available to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [367/94]

The person named does not qualify for a suckler cow quota because he did not apply and present eligible cows for the suckler cow premium scheme in 1992 or 1993. The person named has applied for suckler cow premium in respect of six cows in June 1994.

He may be entitled to an allocation of suckler cow quota from the national reserve. Application forms for the 1994 national reserve will be available in the near future and I have arranged to have one sent to the person named.
Individual quotas do not apply in the EU special beef premium scheme.
