Vol. 445 No. 6

Written Answers. - Shannon Airport.

Michael Noonan

Question:

371 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if he has received a request from Limerick Harbour Commissioners to meet a delegation to discuss the deteriorating situation at Shannon Airport; and if he will have arrangements made to meet the delegation at the earliest possible date. [415/94]

Limerick Harbour Commissioners wrote to me on 12 September requesting a meeting to discuss current happenings at Shannon Airport.

In view of the initiatives which I announced at Shannon on 30 September, I feel that a meeting with Limerick Harbour Commissioners would serve no useful purpose at this stage. I have informed the commissioners accordingly.
