Vol. 445 No. 6

Written Answers. - Recruitment of Physiotherapists.

Jim Higgins

Question:

413 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Health the proposals, if any, he has to recruit further physiotherapists in view of the fact that one physiotherapist and one physiotherapist's aide has to provide physiotherapy services at Swinford District Hospital, Belmullet District Hospital and Áras Deirbhle Home for the elderly, Belmullet, County Mayo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [252/94]

Recruitment of physiotherapists for the centres mentioned is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. It is a matter for the board to allocate resources on the basis of service need and having regard to its competing priorities.
