497 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Education if she intends to provide funding to Kilcommon Primary School, Tinahely, County Wicklow, for a hard-surface court and an extension to the school building in view of the needs of the school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [616/94]

Minister for Education (Ms Bhreathnach)

The hard-surface court and ancillary accommodation as requested for this school would represent the recommended provision for schools of four classrooms or more. As Kilcommon primary school is a two-teacher school it would therefore be ineligible for grant-aid from my Department for the works in question.
