Written Answers. - EU Global Grant for Local Development.

John Bruton

Question:

107 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Taoiseach the detailed terms and conditions under which a company (details supplied) received technical assistance under the EU Global Grant for Local Development negotiated by his Department. [156/94]

The independent intermediary company for the purposes of the Global Grant for Local Development is Area Development Management (ADM) Ltd.

Measure 3 of the Global Grant for Local Development Agreement provides for Operating Costs, Technical Assistance, Information and Publicity. Eligible actions funded under this measure may include:

—the intermediary's operating costs, including the costs incurred by it in complying with Article 12 of the Agreement (information and publicity); and

—the provision of technical assistance and feasibility support to local groups.

The Agreement provides that up to 100 per cent of expenditure under Measure 3 could be provided from the Global Grant.

All measures undertaken under the Global Grant Agreement, which are matters for ADM Ltd., are subject to monitoring and assessment by the Global Grant Monitoring Committee and the regulations governing expenditure from the European Regional Development and Social Funds.
