Vol. 445 No. 6

Written Answers. - Issue of Bookmakers Licence.

Noel Ahern

Question:

141 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Finance the names and addresses of the various applicants who held a licence to operate a bookmakers shop at premises (details supplied) in County Dublin during the years 1988 and 1989 in view of the fact that the information is required to determine responsibility for the non-payment of a winning bet. [403/94]

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that the Deputy was informed on 31 August, 1994 that the Commissioners are unable to provide the required information by virtue of the provisions of the Data Protection Act, 1988.

Information of this nature may be provided, however, where the person or persons concerned consent to its release. The Revenue Commissioners will seek such consent in this case and the Deputy will be informed of the outcome.
