Question:

149 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Finance the number of appointments made to State Boards, boards of semi-State bodies and statutory bodies under the aegis of his Department since this Government took office. [796/94]

The information requested by the Deputy in relation to my Department and to the other offices under my aegis is as follows:

Valuation Office During the tenure of the present Government seven appointments were made to the Valuation Tribunal under the Valuation Act, 1988.

OPW

Board of Visitors, Kilmainham Goal — one appointment

Wildlife Advisory Council — two appointments

Finance

The board of the Central Bank — four appointments

ICC Bank — one appointment

An Post National Lottery Company — four appointments

National Treasury Management Agency — one appointment

Local Government Computer Services Board — one appointment

Disabled Drivers Medical Board of Appeal — three appointments TSB Bank — This Bank can be considered to operate under the auspices of the Minister for Finance by virtue of provisions of the Trustee Savings Bank Act, 1989. The Minister for Finance has no function, however, in the appointment of trustees of the bank or in the appointment of any officers of the bank.
