I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Connaughton — the lack of shipping facilities for the export of live cattle to the continent and the need to have the matter resolved urgently as failure to do so will result in great financial loss to thousands of farmers; (2) Deputy Kirk — the need to have a more comprehensive radon gas level survey carried out in County Louth in view of the quite disturbing indications shown in results of a limited survey in the Cooley area recently; (3) Deputy Flanagan — the action, if any, it is proposed to take arising from the case of a surgeon in England who was jailed for endangering hundreds of patients by performing operations while being a carrier of Hepatititis B; (4) Deputy McGrath — the urgent need to review the regulations concerning the payment of adjacent or non-adjacent higher education grants to mature students; (5) Deputy Hogan — the need to amend the 1989 regulations under the Wireless and Telegraphy Act, 1926, to allow for the licensing of community television as in the case of South Coast Community Television in Cork; (6) Deputy Sargent — the reason for the closure of Coláiste Móibhí; and the provisions being made to ensure that members of the Church of Ireland can avail of schooling through the medium of Irish to maintain the high standard of Irish in Church of Ireland schools.
